Operation Toofan – Flag Hoisting
Inauguration of Operation Thoofan at Chirakkal Grama Panchayat
The Chirakkal Grama Panchayat-level inauguration of the second phase of Operation Thoofan, the anti-drug initiative of the Government of Kerala, was inaugurated by Grama Panchayat President Shri. Kollon Mohanan.
The objective of the project is to strengthen and expand anti-drug activities through the joint efforts of the Local Self-Government Department, Kerala Police, and Excise Department, with the aim of completely preventing the spread and use of narcotic substances. As part of the programme, Grama Panchayat President Shri. Kollon Mohanan hoisted the flag in front of the Grama Panchayat office. This was followed by an inauguration ceremony held at the Grama Panchayat Conference Hall, presided over by the Grama Panchayat President. Shri. Vipin, Station House Officer of Valapattanam Police Station, distributed the badges. A live telecast of the state-level inauguration ceremony was also arranged as part of the programme.
An awareness class was conducted under the leadership of Smt. Swapna, Psychologist at the Digital De-Addiction Centre, followed by the Thoofan Pledge. Additional Superintendent Shri. Shaji Varghese addressed the gathering. Panchayat Secretary Shri. Ajaib Chandran M.C. delivered the welcome address, while Assistant Secretary Smt. Reji Cheruvattil proposed the vote of thanks.
